Tubbataha, Visayas, Leyte... Solitude One adding Philippines to their Destinations!

It is with great excitement that I announce my decision to add the Philippines to our Solitude One's liveaboard diving service! This will be an annual practice beginning in 2016. Solitude One will now be serving Palau and the Philippines!

The first cruise schedule is on the 19 April (to 28 April) 2016 leaving from Mactan and diving our way towards Tubbataha. Besides Tubbataha, We will be offering the itineraries of the south and northern visayas. With the tremendous support Solitude has with the who's who of the local diving in the philippines, we will be working with them on coming up with the various itineraries and exploratory plans too! 

I know what everyone thinks about when a liveaboard goes to a new destination, but even the most experienced had a first day at work. That is why the support is not all academics, but with the local diving aficionados being on board to assist in cruise directing and guide in tandem with our team!

Fresh off my desk is the updated schedule (and format) PDF file with the availability and rates. On page 3, you will find the inclusions/exclusions of the rates for our Philippines' itineraries. I will make available the other essential literature of Itineraries and FAQs as soon as I can and also be updating the website to add the pages with those essential information.  

As many of you know, this has been in the plans and we are extremely excited and looking forward to this new destination in addition to Palau! I want to thank all the support and encouragement to help make this decision easier!

Solitude One has Joined the DivEncounter Alliance!

Solitude is pleased to announce their affiliation with DivEncounters Alliance – a conclave of like-minded individuals who own and operate top-rate, luxury diving liveaboards combined with amazing dive destinations to make sure their guests have an unforgettable holiday.

Operating in the world famous Rock Islands of Palau, flagship MV Solitude One has had a major facelift and now this 52-metre, steel-hulled beauty carries 10 luxury en suite cabins, a thoughtfully designed dive deck, is a certified Official Bauer PureAir Station, a well appointed camera room, a big sun deck  and even a jacuzzi! She can be reconfigured easily to provide for exploration and research expeditions as well while still keeping all the modern comforts.

“I am proud and honoured to be part of this Alliance. I have always believed the epitome of good service is paying attention to detail and focussing on clientèle who appreciate this service,” says Andrew Lok, managing director.

Palau as a diving destination with sites like the Blue Corner, Peleliu, Blue Holes, German Channel were a powerful attraction for Andrew, from its azure waters and its renowned shark sanctuary to its topside beauty and its ideal location in the Pacific, he saw much potential in placing Solitude One there. “It thrills me to be able to offer and deliver these simple luxuries. I'm constantly looking for ways to make it better and better,” he adds.

After the completion of her reconstruction in the Philippines which Andrew and his project team of naval architects and designers oversaw, Solitude One set off from her final stop in Cebu and arrives in Palau on 09 December 2013. Since then, Solitude has already hosted guests from Australia, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, the US, the Philippines, Russia, Spain, Malaysia, France and Canada.

Not one, but two liveaboards... Its the Solitude Fleet!

Recently launched, the new liveaboard fleet, named "Solitude Liveaboards" is a brand new start-up led by Andrew Lok. Those familiar with Andrew will know the kind of quality of the liveaboard, the professional and service ethos to expect of Solitude.

The Solitude Fleet will see the first of two ships, 'Solitude 1' serving Palau and Philippines (Summer 2012) while another, 'Solitude 2" in the Maldives (2013).

Our official website will be launched in the middle of 2012 and as we are still in the stage of development, we will be using this Blog to make announcements as well as keeping everyone updated with the progress. Stay tuned for teaser photographs of our vessels as well introductions of the opening team members!
