We are pleased to finally announce our acquisition of Kasawari Lembeh Resort. The property to be added to the Solitude portfolio boasts 5100m2 of waterfront land located in Lembeh, Bitung - the muck-diving “capital” of the world.<br />

Ten luxurious villas, a beachfront infinity-edge swimming pool, a large camera room with individual workstations, a beachfront dive center and a restaurant area with a magnificent view of the Lembeh Straits.<br />
<br />
Kasawari's previous owners have done an excellent job making their resort as one of the top resorts in Lembeh and our plan is to raise the current bar even higher, so as to further enhance the total guest experience by expanding and improving the facilities and service standard.<br />
<br />
When completed, the new resort will have 2 sea-front premium villas, 8 deluxe villas, 2 standard villas, 5 sea-front premium rooms, 6 deluxe rooms, an infinity-edge swimming pool for relaxation and scuba training, a new water’s-edge restaurant & bar, and a more spacious digital room for the photographers.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What to say about Palau? Well, firstly, it’s been a busy season. We have had a lot of trips, which means a lot of diving. And that is no bad thing. The diving here is as you would expect from Palau’s reputation. Exceptional!<br />
So why is the diving here so amazing? Diversity is one of its key features. In a 6 diving day schedule, you can dive wrecks, caverns, reefs, walls and corners. You can swim casually along pristine hard coral gardens, drift through beautiful channels, hook in on strong current corner dives and so on. It makes for an epic liveaboard because you never get bored. And this is all before you mention the marine life.</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-B4lEZlqGZro/VunACG6r70I/AAAAAAAAATk/GX_X03NZO88unE2phqmZ8X0yR1ZjdyGOA/s1600/Scott.Briefing.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-B4lEZlqGZro/VunACG6r70I/AAAAAAAAATk/GX_X03NZO88unE2phqmZ8X0yR1ZjdyGOA/s320/Scott.Briefing.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">"Giving dive briefing"</td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have honestly never seen so many sharks. And I’m not just talking about reef sharks. This season so far we have managed to see nine different types of shark. Palau’s status as the world’s first shark sanctuary is well deserved. Having been very lucky in my dive career in being able to dive some of the world’s top dive destinations, Palau has to be number one so far for large marine life. There is something very special about being hooked on a corner in a strong current, surrounded by anywhere up to fifty grey reef sharks.</div>
Pelagic life here is wonderful, and such a pleasure to see. It is definitely a “big stuff”, “wide angle” dive destination. There are huge schools of fish, hunting tuna, turtles and mantas to name just a few. And thanks to restricted fishing practices, a lot of the fish can be found on the dive sites. Also, because a lot of the marine life doesn’t perceive you as a predator it means if you move slowly and gently, you can almost kiss the fish they get so close.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Palau does lack macro life though. It is here, but there isn’t a lot of it. You can see nudibranchs, ghost pipefish and candy crabs, plus orang-utan crabs and pygmy seahorses. But it isn’t in abundance, and you really have to hunt for it. We also have it on good authority that there used to be a frogfish. There is so much other life to see here though, that the lack of macro doesn’t really affect the diving.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So yeah, the diving is pretty epic. And MV Solitude One has to be the nicest boat I have worked on. With a maximum of twenty two guests, this converted fishing research vessel feels super spacious, even when full. At no point does the full quota of guests, plus twenty crew make the boat feel crowded. And a boat doesn’t run without its crew. All of whom are awesome and so much fun to work with. There is always a lot of laughter.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The huge dive deck will definitely make an impression. There is a comfortable lounge area, spacious digital room for setting up your camera equipment, dining area, sundeck and Jacuzzi. The cabins vary in size depending on your budget, but all are spacious (for a boat), and very comfortable.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So I know this sounds a lot like “sales pitch”, but honestly, it really is worth the trip. The drawbacks (as there always are some) are that it isn’t an easy place to get to. All the flights are red eye, and arrive very early in the morning. The internet connections at present are super slow, but they do work and are an improvement on last year. Everything is imported, so most things are not cheap to buy. But the scenery is beautiful and the people are lovely.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Palau lacks good night dives. Because there is limited macro life, they can’t compete with other top class destinations. The water temperature can vary a lot too. Mostly it is a comfortable 29c, but it can drop as low as 18c at times with cold oceanic currents. That can make hook in dives feels a bit cold, as you aren’t swimming around a lot.</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RTNSWkWan70/VunAntnQYKI/AAAAAAAAATo/eeaCZQGN_ucgXN8ndo2bXqwUCQy7GtkZw/s1600/Scott.Skiff.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RTNSWkWan70/VunAntnQYKI/AAAAAAAAATo/eeaCZQGN_ucgXN8ndo2bXqwUCQy7GtkZw/s320/Scott.Skiff.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">"Commuting for work"</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Any of Palau’s drawbacks don’t outweigh its amazing advantages. It really is a little bit of diving heaven. Personally, the season has had its ups and downs. I have had some amazing dives, and ticked some things off the bucket list of what I want to see underwater. But I’ve also broken some toes and had a mistaken case of DCS and recurrent ear issues. But overall, it’s been worth every second!</div>

Sharks. Jellyfish. When someone mentioned Palau, those were the first two things I thought about: the iconic photos of snorkellers floating in a sea of golden jellies and divers watching a wall of sharks. Thankfully, since I've been working in Palau, my mental images are secure! Palau had always been a bucket-list place for me to go for diving and so far it’s living up to expectations!<br />
<br />
The diving can be challenging, with fierce currents rushing over the tops of the reef corners, but the fish life that comes hand in hand with those currents is spectacular. I’d done a lot of diving in currents before arriving in Palau, but the feeling of floating in the current whilst hooked in, with sharks patrolling just a few feet in front of you, is really amazing and like nothing I’ve experienced before.<br />
<br />
One of the main reasons I’d wanted to work in Palau was due to its distinction of being the world’s first shark sanctuary – anywhere that marine and eco-friendly surely has to be a great place to dive! The government efforts have paid off, you really notice the difference in pelagic life compared to places with slightly more relaxed fishing rules. I was lucky enough to see my first tiger shark this season, a very exciting encounter! <br />
<br />
There’s not as much macro life as I’d have expected, especially being so close to the coral triangle, but I suppose the strong oceanic currents have discouraged the little things! Having said that, our finds of pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefish and orang-utan crabs are all the more welcome when you’re not used to seeing them all of the time J<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_U0y2SCbTKY/VsSkfyfMQyI/AAAAAAAAASU/g2at956LEd8/s1600/Amanda.JellyFish.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_U0y2SCbTKY/VsSkfyfMQyI/AAAAAAAAASU/g2at956LEd8/s320/Amanda.JellyFish.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Me @ Jelly Fish Lake</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
One of the nicest things about Palau, for me, is the variety. From caves and wrecks to walls and reefs, it’s difficult to be bored! The trips have a great variety of dives so it’s brilliant to be able to show the guests the range of things Palau has to offer. My favourite dive sites are Blue Corner and Chandelier Caves (it’s impossible to just pick one!). Blue Corner is just one of those dive sites you can dive over and over and it’s always fantastic – depending on the strength and direction of the current, the dive changes each time with different marine life to see, even a bad Blue Corner dive is always a good dive! Apart from the sharks, I love the schooling jacks we find there, they’re beautiful to watch shimmering together as they swim against the current. Chandelier Cave is just a seriously iconic dive site – it’s not really a ‘dive’ in that you spend most of the time above the water, but the caverns are stunning with so many different stalactites and helictites to see, plus the reflections that are cast from the daylight coming in through the entrance are awesome.<br />
<br />
Palau itself is a lovely place, albeit a little small! Once you escape the port it becomes beautiful lush countryside full of flowers and tropical plants – a day off exploring showed the more tropical side of the island. It’s hard sometimes being so remote, the internet connection is pretty dismal (thank goodness for the satellite internet on board to be able to send Christmas messages back home!), but the perks of tropical island life (sand, sea, sun!) plus the great diving makes it all worthwhile. </div>
<br />
<span style="text-align: justify;">They do say that all good things must come to an end – we have only a couple of trips left of the season before we head off to the Philippines and Tubbataha (which should prove to be some equally epic diving!). However, good things also come to those who wait - I'm looking forward to being back in Palau next season!</span><br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here you have some of the reasons of why we have decided to add Tubattaha ( Philippines ) to our Solitude One’s liveaboard diving service.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It’s no surprise that scuba divers would want to experience Tubbataha firsthand. Recently nominated as one of the ‘New Seven Wonders of the Natural World’, this marine protected area is home to a staggering wealth of biodiversity. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-50rPcCCExV4/ViUgbpClZMI/AAAAAAAAANY/JLSacc5rUDM/s1600/IMG_5979%2Bcopy%2Bresized.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-50rPcCCExV4/ViUgbpClZMI/AAAAAAAAANY/JLSacc5rUDM/s200/IMG_5979%2Bcopy%2Bresized.jpg" width="150" /></a>It is located in the Sulu Sea, Philippines – at the geographic centre of world marine biodiversity – lies an underwater nature reserve that is considered both a mecca for scuba divers, model for coral reef conservation and the largest marine protected area (MPA) in the Philippines.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Tubattaha Reefs Natural Park contains roughly 10,000 hectares of coral reef, lying at the heart of the Coral Triangle - the global centre of marine biodiversity in keeping our oceans alive.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br />
It is well known that Palau offers a big spectrum of wrecks and Solitude we would like to introduce you all of them little by little, you will dive in some of them....or if you wish in all of them...<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
TESHIO MARU WRECK ….. lies at 25m</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-p8if7K4HDtM/Vdyu2f8PnEI/AAAAAAAAALM/Y77YNGnR9lQ/s1600/IMG_8566%2Bcopia%2Bresized.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-p8if7K4HDtM/Vdyu2f8PnEI/AAAAAAAAALM/Y77YNGnR9lQ/s320/IMG_8566%2Bcopia%2Bresized.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
The Teshio is a Japanese army cargo ship. It is 100m long and was sunk on March 30, 1944 as it was trying to escape from an inner lagoon. Its lies on its starboard side with a hole in the hull just between the two forward holes caused by a torpedo dropped by a fighter plane from the USS Bunker Hill.<br />
Both anchors are still in stow position at the bow. A small gun is mounted at the bow but it is barely recognizable due to the heavy marine growth of oysters, black coral and sponges. The two forward holds are empty but it is possible to swim through the torpedo hole to get to the hull.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MLmMT3-dxls/VdyvRTPtZTI/AAAAAAAAALU/rkXnoFkUyxk/s1600/IMG_8545%2Bresized.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MLmMT3-dxls/VdyvRTPtZTI/AAAAAAAAALU/rkXnoFkUyxk/s320/IMG_8545%2Bresized.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Few artefacts are found within the superstructure and much of the engine room is damaged from salvaging. The rudder and the shaft are easily seen.<br />
Large sea whips and sponges drip off the hull.<br />
<br />
More wrecks history and specifications are coming soon…keep posted!<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><i>Jellyfish Lake in Mecherchar Island </i></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Palau has around 57 marine lakes and each is unique. There are two different types of lakes in Palau. Mixed and Stratified lakes. Most of them are very difficult to reach. The largest one has 2000 m long and 60 m deep with small island inside the lake.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
The Mixed lakes have tunnels connected to the ocean so they have coral reef animal live at all depths.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
The stratified lakes are poorly connected to the ocean only trough small cracks and crevices and stratified from top to bottom with bottom layers lacking oxygen, do not have corals and usually surrounded by mangroves. Instead ,they have colorful sponges, anemone…. At least 12 lakes in Palau are stratified including the famous Jellyfish Lake with high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide bellow.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Many marine lakes in Palau have Jellyfish of various species, “ Jellyfish Lake” is the only one open for tourist for conservational and ecological reasons. The lake is 400 m long , 150 m wide and 30 m deep. Because of the layer of poisons hydrogen sulfide bellow 15 m there is no marine life. Scuba Diving is no allowed but yes the snorkeling.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
In Jellyfish Lake are found around 5 million of a unique subspecie of Golgen Mastigian Papua and nowhere else in the world. The lake used to be home for another kind of Jellies, the Aurelia Moon usually they were found deeper or below the Golden Mastigias but it appears that this Jellies no longer exists in the lake since the strongest El Niño recorded in 1999 and after this event the Aurelia Moon Jelly slowly disappear from the lake.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
The Jellies have adapted to live in this lake, as the sun rises they swim in a migratory pattern towards the sun heading the east and as the sun passes overhead around noon the jellies turn and swim back towards the sun heading to the west.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
The Jellyfish swim this way to avoid the edge of the lake where their real and natural predators wait for them, an endemic sea anemone, who will brush up against their tentacles.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Definitely a visit to the Jellyfish Lake is a must when you come to Palau, be able to swim surrounded by millions of harmless jellies is a unique experience and Palau is one little places in the world that you can do it.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
That’s way we have to have to keep the lake healthy with simple guidelines like minimize the amount of sunscreen protection used, do not through trash into the lake, so not disturb, kick, handle or disturb the jellies, the are very fragile and can be easily torn apart…etc!</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">

Since arriving in Palau 6 months ago, I have been treated to many amazing experiences and seen things I never thought possible. I have seen orange spine unicorn fish spawning, up to 30 grey reef sharks hunting, schools of trevally, snapper and barracuda larger than a football pitch and more manta encounters than you can imagine. As a dive guide and someone that has a connection with the sea that I cannot put into words, living in Palau has fulfilled many dreams. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As a child I was always fascinated with water. Having said that, I learnt to swim quite late in my childhood; I think I was around 10 years old. I was never a strong swimmer. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But I immediately had an affinity with water. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Living on a boat is something I always wanted to do but I never imagined I would be able to do it. We have a multinational crew on board and like any big family we have our ups and downs. But we work really well as a team and we have great leadership which is essential in any successful business or on any boat.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We have a vast mixture of guests and nationalities that come on board. Every guest is unique and it is always so nice to show them the jewels of Palau. And hopefully to send them away with memories that will last a lifetime. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There are however a few things that make life in Palau a little difficult. One of those things is the lack of internet and lack of connection with the outside world. Imagine going back in time 15 or 20 years and dealing with slow dial up connections or holding your phone in the air to maintain a hotspot. That’s what the internet is like here. But you do get used to it. Like everything in life I try to look for the positives in the negatives. It makes you appreciate the world that is before your eyes rather than the world that is in front of you on a screen.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The other thing is the rain. Having lived in a Egypt for the past 3 years previous to my arrival in Palau; nothing could have prepared me for the amount of rain that falls here. One can count on 1 hand the amount of times it rains in the area where I was based in Egypt. Having been born in the UK, and having grown up in Ireland, I never imagined I would find a country that experiences more rain annually than either of my home countries put together. But I certainly found it in Palau. When I arrived here at the beginning of the season, it rained for a whole month. I didn’t see the sun shine at all in that month. But then when it did shine, and the wind died down it was like being in paradise. I almost completely forgot about the month of rain that I had just experienced.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, all in all, living in Palau is a positive experience. I have seen many wondrous creatures and met some amazing people. I have formed friendships that will last for a long time and learnt many life lessons. I am sure I will continue to learn more as my journey continues……..</div>

<b><u>9th of December 2014</u></b>……, for most of the people is a normal date but for the CREW of MV Solitude One is a really special day.<br />
That day, early morning, flat sea, sunny day ……. MV Solitude One FINALLY made her entry in the Republic of Palau from Philippines , that day MV Solitude One started its operations in Palau. <br />
<br />
We have already spent a year in Palau, we have learnt a lot from all of us and from all of our guest that we have been hosting on board and we have enjoy even more the beauty of these pristine waters of the Pacific with turquoise lagoons and coral reefs full of life.<br />
Also during the first year, MV Solitude One has become partner of <a href="http://www.divencounters.com/" target="_blank">Divencounters Alliance </a>, 7 different boats in 6 different destinations offering to all of our guest several benefits , after this Alliance we feel so proud of her.<br />
<br />
Life in the paradise is a gift, every morning wake up and observe such an awesome landscape through our porthole is priceless.<br />
The Rock Islands Southern Lagoon of Palau has been inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2012 “ Seventy Islands” , as a mixed cultural and natural site into the UNESCO. There is also the highest concentration of marine lakes anywhere, an example is The Jellyfish Lake in Macharchar Island with the Golden Mastigias and Aurilia Mon Jellyfish.<br />
<br />
Every single day is a challenge for us, we feel so fortunate of being part of Solitude Family, we are 1 year old , pretty new in PALAU but not new in the diving & hospitality Industry!<br />
Diving, kayaking, Snorkeling……everyone is welcome……….it is just amazing!<br />
<br />
Many, many many years to come!<br />
Congratulations for your FIRST Anniversary MV Solitude One!<br />

It’s been a few months now since I arrived in the paradise of Palau!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Paradise here meaning one ship, Solitude One. A big family including Asians, Europeans and Africans.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The diving compared to most of the world is unbeatable, with all sorts of things to see.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Turtle Cove, one of the dive sites........... you enter a hole at 2 m then descend and pop out at around 25 m. As you wonder on through you come across giant gorgonians and sea fans. These are bursting with colour and inhabit many schools of shy trevally.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Following the wall back to the plateau there are many large schools of fish from jacks to snappers to barracudas. And when looking to the blue anything is possible. This time a family of reef sharks decided to grace us with their presence. We had the mummy, daddy and around 10 babies no bigger than 50cm. The parents where protective circling around with the babies following.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After that excitement it was on to the plateau where the first thing we came across was a hawksbill turtle, gently gliding past. Closely followed by a napoleon wrasse which seemed curious by us divers. The coral maybe the best Palau has to offer at this site, with every type of hard coral being possible to see. And with the coral comes the reef fish, the plateau is like your own personal aquarium with every turn you take seeing a different species. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It’s an easy slow dive but with many things to see, everyone on the surface had a big smile on their face. <br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QYsnRw008M8/VG3HLPmpDGI/AAAAAAAAAGE/WX3jqxhe1f8/s1600/IMG_5524%2Bcopy%2Bresized.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QYsnRw008M8/VG3HLPmpDGI/AAAAAAAAAGE/WX3jqxhe1f8/s1600/IMG_5524%2Bcopy%2Bresized.jpg" height="241" width="320" /></a></div>
German Channel is exactly that, a channel created by Germans so they could transport phosphorus and other minerals across the world. This happened many many years ago and has now become a blooming reef. Due to the current which flows through, it’s an ideal place for mantas to get a clean from the small wrasses.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Down the mooring we went and waiting for us there was a green turtle that was the perfect model for photos. Then approaching the cleaning station, all of us praying, we sat and waited. After 10 minutes or so two angelic but humongous creatures came swooping over, the wait had ended, we had two mantas!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
They glided around for everyone to see, going high, low and wide. Then one went off track behind the group, which conveniently was where I had placed myself. Over it came, straight above my head. The closest I had ever been to an ocean giant, almost hugging me with it’s fins.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After this breath taking experience they swam away and it was off to the sharks whilst flying through the channel. Sharks here where plentiful and of quite some size, the biggest being around 3m. Mainly grey reefs with some white and black tips too. The white tips would cruise low around the flourishing reef and would not be shy to say hello at a close distance.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Towards the end, the flight kept going and reef fish kept appearing. The dive was like a dream, floating through the ocean being met by these amazing creatures. All divers were ecstatic.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<br />
<br />
<span style="text-align: justify;">I have been working and diving in Palau for a couple of months already! We are a big family on board MV Solitude One.</span><br />
<span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uWrX2wLa5Og/VG3Ht-6eXhI/AAAAAAAAAGM/rkoZx5LMn7Q/s1600/IMG_5565%2Bcopia.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uWrX2wLa5Og/VG3Ht-6eXhI/AAAAAAAAAGM/rkoZx5LMn7Q/s1600/IMG_5565%2Bcopia.jpg" height="320" width="241" /></a></div>
Blue Holes is definitely my favorite dive site, when you first look down into the hole you feel like you are going into a completed darkness, and all of a sudden you are floating inside of a massive chamber as you were in the space bring it us a feeling of peace.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The corners and small cracks hold electrical clams, nudibranch, and occasionally white tip reef sharks sleeping on the sandy bottom. When you exit the huge chamber you should keep an eye out into the blue for big schools of jacks, red snapper, barracudas and sharks.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This dive holds exciting and beauty in the same sense.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A very unique dive site for me is Siaes Corner, facing the Philippines Sea. As soon as you start your descend and check out the visibility you know that is going to be a very awesome dive….drifting along the wall until you reach the corner where we look for a place to hook and start enjoying the show! Grey reef sharks, white tip reef sharks, black fin barracuda, turtles, blue fin tuna….every second is full of action!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Threats from overexploited fisheries, non-sustainable forest practices and increasing development Palauans to recognize that action must be taken to protect their environment for future generations due to a critical balance between the need to use their natural resources today and the need to sustain those for future.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Palau’s government has taken towards to protect their natural resources with the creation of a comprehensive Protected Areas.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of the last MADE PERMANENT has been: The Ngederrak Conservation Area, which includes a inner lagoon, sea grass beds, coral reef, channels, and a critical nursery habitat for many kinds of juvenile reef fish and provides a very important feeding place for the endangered and vulnerable species of dugong.</div>
<br />
In Palau we have the world’s most isolated population of this relative of the manatee.<br />
<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">An Adult Dugong</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Protecting this area will mean juvenile fish can grow and move to other areas outside the conservation area.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The legal restrictions are no fishing, no disturbance, no boats in approximately 5.8 square km in size. It is located to the southeast of Malakal Harbour in Koror</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Our help is really important, for example being a volunteer to take part in conversations activities, report violations, respect the boundaries of the area.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Others Conservation Areas are: Ngerukewid, Ngerumekaol, Ngemelis.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Palau thanks to his biodiversity and beauty is name as one of the “Seven underwater wonders of the wold” </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<span style="font-family: inherit;"><a href="http://www.solitude-one.com/" target="_blank">Solitude </a>is pleased to announce their affiliation with DivEncounters Alliance – a conclave of like-minded individuals who own and operate top-rate, luxury diving liveaboards combined with amazing dive destinations to make sure their guests have an unforgettable holiday.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Operating in the world famous Rock Islands of Palau, flagship MV Solitude One has had a major facelift and now this 52-metre, steel-hulled beauty carries 10 luxury en suite cabins, a thoughtfully designed dive deck, is a certified Official Bauer PureAir Station, a well appointed camera room, a big sun deck and even a jacuzzi! She can be reconfigured easily to provide for exploration and research expeditions as well while still keeping all the modern comforts.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">“I am proud and honoured to be part of this Alliance. I have always believed the epitome of good service is paying attention to detail and focussing on clientèle who appreciate this service,” says <a href="http://www.solitude-one.com/index.php?the-management" target="_blank">Andrew Lok</a>, managing director.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Palau as a diving destination with sites like the <a href="http://www.solitude-one.com/index.php?dive-sites-palau" target="_blank">Blue Corner, Peleliu, Blue Holes, German Channel</a> were a powerful attraction for Andrew, from its azure waters and its renowned <a href="http://www.solitude-one.com/index.php?about-palau" target="_blank">shark sanctuary </a>to its topside beauty and its ideal location in the Pacific, he saw much potential in placing Solitude One there. “It thrills me to be able to offer and deliver these simple luxuries. I'm constantly looking for ways to make it better and better,” he adds.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">After the completion of her reconstruction in the Philippines which Andrew and his project team of naval architects and designers oversaw, Solitude One set off from her final stop in Cebu and arrives in Palau on 09 December 2013. Since then, Solitude has already hosted guests from Australia, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, the US, the Philippines, Russia, Spain, Malaysia, France and Canada.</span><br />

Solitude One's 2015 till June 2016 schedule in Palau is ready! It is available for <a href="https://dl.dropbox.com/s/6q1sb7liip7b1jp/Schedule.Solitude%20One.pdf" target="_blank">download here</a>. The schedule on our website will be updated shortly to include the newly released schedule for 2015 and 2016.<br />
<br />
Besides a layout change, one additional information is added - Moon Phase of the itinerary. Also, there is a 5% discount for 10 or more nights itinerary.<br />
<br />
Special Note to take is that Solitude One will be on dry-dock and make-over schedule in June and July 2015. Who knows, we might just take a week or 2 and enjoy some diving in the Philippines before OR after the dry-dock and make-over works.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07722395959960242250noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8128794256041216097.post-12156651914804053552013-10-22T16:40:00.004+08:002013-10-22T16:40:36.546+08:00A glimpse of Solitude One's Diving Skiff<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Solitude One skiff(s) has a unique hull design which is conceptualised by our in-house naval architect, Gerard Ogang. The rest of the boat (except for the roof frame and Canvas) was also custom built in-house with fiberglass for the extra strength and ease of maintenance. The composite used is also a higher grade which gives the skiff the added strength without the usual weight thus making it lighter and saving fuel in the long run. </span></div>

Of course, during dives, on board medical oxygen will be available as well.</span></div>
